Acceptance

Using vaultools.dev or the vaultools CLI means you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use them — nothing here requires an account or signup either way, so there's no other commitment beyond using the site.

The service

Vaultools is a set of browser-based developer tools (JSON formatting, JWT decoding, UUID/hash generation, regex testing, timestamp conversion, X.509 certificate decoding, Base64 encoding, URL encoding and parsing, cron expression explanation, Unix permission calculation, HTML entity encoding, format identification) plus a CLI that wraps the same logic for scripts and CI. All of it is free with no account required; an optional Pro tier unlocks batch processing. See About for the fuller story and Privacy for exactly what data goes where.

Pro subscriptions & billing

Pro is $5/month or $49 one-time, billed via Stripe. Cancel the monthly plan anytime by emailing billing@vaultools.dev — access continues until the end of the period already paid for, with no partial refund for unused time. The one-time plan has no recurring billing, so there's nothing to cancel. Full detail lives on the Pro page, which this section is a summary of, not a replacement for.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break, abuse, or circumvent the license system (e.g. sharing a single key across unrelated people at a scale that isn't just "a couple of your own devices," or attempting to brute-force license keys), and don't use the service for anything illegal. That's it — there's no account to misuse and nothing else to abuse.

No warranty

Vaultools is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. In particular: the JWT decoder does not verify signatures and the certificate decoder does not validate chains, signatures, or revocation (see those tools' own pages for why), and none of these tools are a substitute for your own judgment about what's safe to do with sensitive data. Use at your own risk, same as any free tool.

Changes to these terms

This page may be updated occasionally as the product changes; continued use after an update means you accept the current version. Nothing here is expected to change often — there's no account, so there's no mechanism to notify you individually beyond the "last updated" date above.
